Southern Danish Company Disinfects Air
When the SARS infection broke out, Jimco A/S sold systems for air purification.

Jimco A/S, located in Rudkøbing on the island of Langeland, produces award-winning systems for the purification and disinfection of air. The owner, Jimmy K. Larsen, expects that the swine flu will also cause rush – at the production line as well as in the sales organisation.

– Definitely! We are in the process of activating our dealers in Mexico and other countries. When the SARS epidemic broke out a few years ago, we sold 500 air cleaners to China and Singapore at one time. This time, we expect a comparable or even larger increase in activities..

These are the words of Jimmy K. Larsen, who is the owner and Managing Director of Jimco
A/S. Now, the company is also about to contact SAS and other airlines which are in need of air purification.

During a dealer meeting in Singapore, Jimmy Larsen found the time to comment to Fyns Stiftstidende that, since the SARS breaktout, the air purification systems of the company have also been tested and analysed in the Far East.

In a better position this time

– Therefore, we are in an even better position this time. We are capable of presenting evidence that our systems purify and sterilise air. The apparatus can be applied at all places where people gather, and they will be of particular value in nursing homes and other places where there are many elderly people – for the elderly and diseased are exposed to a particular risk if infected with swine flu. But it will also be relevant to install the systems in schools, supermarkets, hospitals and clinics. The possibilities are endless.

Air cleaners from Jimco are available in three different sizes. The smallest of them approximately has the size of a shoebox and costs less than €500 excluding VAT. The patented air purification systems are based on a special technology called photolytic oxidation. This technology includes the process
cold combustion in which the harmful micro organisms of the air are broken down in 45 minutes, tearing apart the air containing protein chains.

Jimco products are environmentally friendly as filters and chemicals are not applied and energy consumption is limited. Through the years, Jimco A/S has received a number of awards for its products: the EU Environmental Award, the Environmental Award of the Funen Region, and the local Business Award of Langeland. The company has 9 employees and supplies air purification systems to well-known customers like McDonald’s, Daloon and Danish Crown.

Jimco A/S, which also produces water purification systems, made its first air cleaner in 1993.
